Liquid Phase Catalytic Exchange (LPCE) process in Tritium Removal Facility (TRF) was numerically analyzed in order to apply a Korean catalyst to the Wolsong TRF. The nominal conditions were exactly same as those of Vapor Phase Catalytic Exchange (VPCE) process in the Darlington TRF. The number of theoretical stages depending on the operating temperature of the LPCE process shows a minimum value of 53 at 80℃, which is much bigger than that of the VPCE process. The variables which have an effect on the number of theoretical stages of the LPCE process are flow rate ratio of gas to vapor, decontamination factor in cryogenic distillation process and efficiencies of the catalytic bed and the absorption bed.
