미주 한국인 사회의 문화구조 = Cultural Structure of Korean-American Society in the United States

국문 초록 (Abstract)

미주내의 한국인 사회는 매우 선명하게 그 문화 구조를 드러내고 있다. 강화하는 민족경제를 위시하여, 종교와 교육 활동이 나날이 격증하고 있으며 자체적인 사회 활동 또는 공공 활동이 정착하고 있다. 이는 한 민족의 미래상을 부드럽고, 희망적이고, 낙관적으로 전망할 수 있도록 뒷받침하는 초석이라고 하겠다. 한 민족이 미 주류사회에 파고들어 주인이 될 수도 있는 일이며, 적어도 자신의 민족 사회를 구성하는 것은 용이한 일로 판단되었기 때문이다. 미주 한인사회는 주류사회에 동화 또는 적응하면서 자신의 민족 사회를 성장시키고 있다. 문화 기관과 교육 기관이 급속도로 성장하여 문화 수준을 향상시킬 뿐 아니라 문화 창조의 고차원적인 학술활동이 진척되고 있다.

Korean American community in the United States is obviously demonstrating its own ethnic culture and social existence prevailing to native or preoccupied other ethnic society through out whole area of this newly created young country. Their ethnic economy is steady and powerful religious activities are flourishing of all area and own education is improving through various ethnic or integrated school system .Korean community in the United States is positively adding many benefits to the native society contributing many professional activities which are performed by its preexisted population. Korean community in the Uniteds extending Korean ethnic power of global living establishing their own community outstandingly through out all over this country.
Korean can develop their manner of living by enhancing their social status aiming to grasp top ranking stratification of component of the country by heavily acculturating to native culture, and at least it is a possible task to form own community. Korean culture is growing in this country rapidly as many Korean have awakened of their identity and kinship which is definitely benefit mutually rather than isolated activities.
Young generations are aware of their function in this country exploring mission of multicultural accomplishment strongly naturalizing to the native Anglo-Saxon cultural structure. However, they are also very anxious to develop their own ethnic culture and smaintain their own ethnic language with strong heritage as a Korean.
