      小豆形質의 遺傳力을 알고자 本大學에 保存되어 있는 小豆 88 品種中 任意로 擇한 30品種을 材料로 1966年 亂塊法 3回反覆으로 配置, 播種되었다. 調査形質은 開花日數, 開花期間, 生育日數, 1株莢數, 1株粒數, 區當粒重 그리고 100粒重의 7個形質이었고 이들 各形質別 平均値, 標準誤差, 分散 및 標準偏差는 第1表와 같고(Table 1) 分散分析의 結果는 第2表와 같다(Table 2). 各形質의 遺傳力을 推定한바 開花日數, 開花期間, 生育日數, 莢數, 粒數 그리고 100粒重의 6個形質은 各各 90.0, 96.6, 98.8, 87.2, 99.1, 97.1%로서 매우 높고 收量形質로 볼 수 있는 粒數의 遺傳力은 41.6%로서 第1 낮은 값을 나타 내었다(Table 3).

      Thirty Adzuke bean varieties were used as the material, and those were grown in a randomized block design under June sowing condition. Planting were made with 70 cm width in row and 40 cm apart, on 6th, June, 1966, and two seeds per hill were planted. Seven agronomic characters namely flowering time(days to flowering), duration of flowering, maturity date (days to maturity), pod number per plant, grain number per plant, grain weight (seed yield) and 100 grain weight were studied on an individual plant basis.
      Means, standard errors, variances and standard deviations for these seven characters were calculated, and also estimates of the genotypic and environmental variances in these characters were made.
      Heritability values for the characters studied were estimated by the variance components procedures in a replicated trial for the varieties.
      Flowering time<days to flowering>, duration of flowering, maturity date <days to maturity>, pod number per plant, grain number per plant and 100 grain weight gave much higher heritabilities, 90.0, 96.6, 98.8, 87.2, 99.1 and 97.1, respectively. These were higher than anticipated. This was expected since these heritabilities in the broad sense contain the variance due to dominance and epistasis in addition to the additive genetic variance.
      The heritability for grain weight (seed yield) showed the lowest value, 41.6%, as shown in table 3, and this was erratic due to the large environmental variance.
