Until the introduction of the computer image editing system, the linear editing system, which is a way that each actual film is connected cut by cut, was mainly used. However, the introduction of the computer image editing system rapidly replaced the linear editing system with the nonlinear editing system- This change resulted m digital mage editing by computer.<br/>
This research investigates the case studies on image editing, focusing on image editing techniques related to the human psychological condition. Also, it presents the development and perspective of the image editing system in terms of its technological aspect.<br/>
The research results indicate that the Hollywood-style image editing technique and the montage technique of the former Soviet Union, contributed to the development of image editing, and that me nonlinear image editing system improved image technology. The more developed editing system, which combines the digital image editing technique and communication technology, will help to open an era where one can access the image that he or she wants to see, regardless of a specific time and space, through a ubiquitous network system.
