錦江 중·하류역 松菊里形 聚落에 대한 家口考古學的 접근 = Household Archaeology of Songgukri-Type Settlements in the Lower and Middle Reaches of Geum River:Analysis of Household Wealth/Status Variability Using MDS

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Sociopolitical, economic changes accompanying with emergence of Songgukri-type settlements in the middle and lower reaches of Geum River has been explored top-down perspective. I suggest bottom-up approach to these changes, emphasizing the necessity of micro-perspective for more thorough understanding on process and mechanism of the changes.
For the purpose, I attempt to analyze intra-community distribution of wealth/status using multidimensional scaling. Six excavated sites to be analyzed are differently ranked in the regional settlement hierarchy constituted of primary centers, secondary centers and rural villages. Regardless to their ranks, the communities show clear discontinuous distributional patterns of wealth and/or status, and substantial concentration of wealth into small numbers of large households are observed.
Looking at the distributional patterns of wealth and/or status in the specific communities with reference to regional scale economic patterns related to rice agricultural intensification reveals drastic incompatibility with bottom-up models relevant to sociopolitical organization of agricultural intensification, in which individual household's initiation and maintenance of intensified agricultural system could be emphasized.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

錦江 중·하류역에서 松菊里型 聚落의 형성과 궤를 같이 하는 사회·정치·경제적 변화는 그간 주로 거시적인 관점에서 다루어져 왔다. 본고는 그러한 변화를 보다 심층적이고 역동적으로 이해하기 위해서는 미시적인 관점의 보완이 필요함을 역설하면서, 家口의 관점에서 이 문제에 접근해 보고자한다.
그러한 시도는 多次元尺度法을 이용하여, (단위)공동체 내 개별 가구 간 빈부차/위계 양상을 분석하는 작업을 통해 진행된다. 분석대상이 된 6개 유적은 전체 연구대상지역의 취락체계에서 등급을 달리하는 개별 공동체의 일부 혹은 전부를 반영하는데, 각각은 상위중심지, 하위중심지, 일반부락으로 분류된다. 개별 공동체의 등급에 관계없이 그 내부의 부나 지위는 繼續的인 분포상을 보이며, 소수의 대형 가구에 부가 집중되는 현상도 관찰된다.
그러한 공동체 내 부/지위의 분포양상을 '水稻作' 이라는 집약화된 농업형태의 운용과 관련된 지역적 차원의 경제양상과 관련지어 해석해 볼 때, 고고학적 유물·유구의 양상은 개별 농가의 자발적인 참여와 연속적인 부/지위의 분포를 상정하는 설명모형과는 排置됨을 알 수 있었다.
