자살생각과 그 관련변인들 간의 구조적 관계 모형 검증 = Verification of the Structural Relationship Modelof Suicidal Ideation to Its Related Variables

The purpose of this study was to investigate a structural model which can explain the relationship of suicidal ideation to its related variables. The subjects comprised 221 senior citizens over 65 years old and 221 high school students. Socio-demographic factors, Stress scales Hopelessness scales, Depression scales and Suicidal ideation scales were all employed. To process the data, correlation analysis using SPSS. WIN 15.0, and a hypothetical testing model using AMOS 7.0 were applied. The results were as follows: Firstly, suicidal ideation was strongly related to depression. Secondly, it was found that the competing model 1 was a better fit to the data than the other models. This meant that depression was more powerful a factor than hopelessness, having an influence upon the path between stress and suicidal ideation. Finally, the implications and limitations of this study were discussed together with suggestions for future studies.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구의 목적은 자살생각과 그 관련변인들 간의 관계를 살펴보고, 이들 간의 구조적 관계를 가장 잘 설명하는 자살생각 구조모형을 탐색하려는 것이다. 이를 위해 노인 221명과 청소년 221명에게 인구사회학적 변인과 스트레스 척도, 절망 척도, 우울 척도, 자살생각 척도로 구성된 동일한 설문지를 실시하여 그 변인들의 특성과 구조적 관계를 탐구하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 자살생각과 가장 상관이 높은 변인은 우울이었으며, 우울은 스트레스보다 절망과 상관이 더 높았다. 둘째, 경쟁모형1이 최종모형으로 선택되었는데, 이는 자살생각에 대한 절망과 우울의 매개효과에 있어 절망보다 우울의 효과가 더 크다는 것을 의미하는 것이다. 셋째, 예측변인들이 기준변인을 설명하는 설명력으로 볼 때, 자살생각은 우울보다 예측하기 어려운 변인이었다. 이 연구의 의의와 그 시사점을 논하고, 후속연구를 위한 제언을 제시하였다.
