범죄자들의 영적 안녕 수준이 공격성에 미치는 영향 -부정적 기분조절 기대치의 매개효과를 중심으로- = The Effects of Spirituality on the Aggression Levels of Prisoners-With the Mediation of Negative Mood Regulation Expectancies-

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of spirituality on the aggressive nature of prisoners and how they are influenced by negative mood regulation expectancies. For the study, 265 male prisoners from Kangwon-Province Jail were studied. Based on the results, our hypothesis, that spirituality does indeed affect prisoners' aggression with the mediation of negative mood regulation, was supported and verified. The direct effect of spirituality was not statistically significant, but indirectly, the effects on the mediation of negative mood regulation expectancies were substantial. Therefore, this study suggests that high levels of spiritual wellbeing regulates and may even control one's negative moods, and as a result, negative mood regulation expectancies could possibly minimize aggression and anger in such people. The results and limitations of this study are discussed in relation to and compared with the results of other similar studies.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

영적 안녕 상태는 일반인들의 삶의 의미나 정서에 긍정적인 영향을 주며 삶의 질을 높인다고 알려져 왔다. 본 연구는 범죄자들을 대상으로 일반인과 마찬가지로 영적 안녕 수준이 공격성에 영향을 미치는지 그리고 부정적 정서조절 기대치가 이 두 변인을 매개하는지 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 교정시설에 수감 중인 남성 재소자 265명을 대상으로 연구를 진행하였다. 연구결과 범죄자들의 영적 안녕 수준은 공격성에 직접적으로 영향을 미치는 것이 아니라 부정적 정서조절 기대치를 통해 공격성에 영향을 주는 간접영향만 유의미하였다. 즉, 영적 안녕 수준이 높을수록 부정적인 정서를 완화할 수 있다는 신념이 높았으며 이러한 신념이 높을수록 공격성은 낮아지는 경향을 보였다. 분석결과에 대해 선행연구와 관련하여 논의하고, 연구의 의의와 한계 및 후속연구를 위한 제언을 제시했다.
