This study was designed to examine relation between the parenting of fathers and the self-esteem of adolescence. Sample size was 547, which included 270 boy and 277 girl of high schools. Data were collected by self-reported questionnaire about parenting of fathers and self-esteem. Statistical methods for the data analysis were frequencies, χ2, Correlation Analysis, and Cronbach's alpha.
Major findings can be summarized as follows :
1.Most of adolescence perceived positively about the parenting of fathers.
2.Majority of adolescence reported high self esteem.
3.The parenting of fathers was related to the self-esteem of adolescence. The self-control-oriented, affection-oriented and concern-oriented behaviors of fathers were considerably related to the general self-consciousness, the self-insistence. And the accomplishment-oriented behavior of fathers was considerably related to the objective life and the individual sincerity.
