개화기 한국의 근대초등교육사상 분석 = A Modern Elementary Education Thought of an Enlightenment Age in Korea

In 1876, Korean contracted by Japan and opened trade to Western, such as America, German, Italy, Russia, and France. From now on Korea entered an Enlightenment age and continued to the Korea-Japan Combination 1n 1910. Therefore, Korea education influenced by western modern educational philosophy and western educational philosopher, such as Rousseau, Pestalozzi, Spencer, Herbert, and Dewey. For that reason, an enlightened age is jumping and critical period in Korea culture and education. Korea education changed inevitably and came into being modern educational institutions and systems. And we discovered modern educational thought that through institute magazine and newspaper. As a result, a prominent characteristics of Korean enlightened thoughts are nation building and establishment of sovereignty through education, modernization of educational system and content, introduction of compulsory education, emphasis of women education, and emphasis of vocational and technical education. Specially, modern elementary education thought is rooted in equal opportunity of education, compulsory education, common education, and equal education for boys and girls. These thoughts can distribute to ascertain of characteristics the elementary education thought.
