애착과 심리적 안녕감의 관계에서 자동적 사고의 매개효과 = The Mediating Effect of Automatic Thoughts in the Relation between Attachment and psychological well-being

Finding positive and negative factors associated with psychological well-being that help improve counseling outcomes and interpersonal relationship is vital for mental health professionals. The purpose of the current study was to investigate whether automatic thoughts (positive or negative) mediate the relationship between attachment (including attachment toward parents and peers) and psychological well-being among 290 college students. Father attachment, mother attachment, and peer attachment predicted psychological well-being via an inverse effect on negative automatic thought, whereas those attachments predicted psychological well-being directly through positive automatic thought. The mediating pathway of automatic thoughts on the relationship between attachments and psychological well-being was supported by SEM. Results of this study underscores the importance of understanding attachment and automatic thoughts in terms of counseling college students. Implications on counseling practice and future researches were discussed

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구논문은 심리적 안녕감에 영향을 주는 변인으로 부애착, 모애착, 친구애착, 부정적인 자동적 사고, 긍정적인 자동적 사고와의 관계를 알아보고 자동적 사고가 애착과 심리적 안녕감 사이를 매개하는지의 여부를 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 서울, 충청도 소재 2개 4년제 대학생 290명을 대상으로 우선, 부애착, 모애착, 친구애착에 따라 부정적인 자동적 사고, 긍정적인 자동적 사고, 심리적 안녕감에 차이가 있는지를 살펴보고, 구조방정식 모형을 활용하여 애착이 자동적 사고에 영향을 주고, 자동적 사고가 다시 심리적 안녕감에 영향을 주는지를 확인하였다. 연구 결과에 따르면 부애착, 모애착, 친구애착, 부정적인 자동적 사고, 긍정적인 자동적 사고와 심리적 안녕감과의 관계가 높게 나타났으며 애착 수준에 따른 차이도 유의미하였다. 즉 부애착, 모애착, 친구애착이 높을수록 부정적인 자동적 사고가 낮고, 긍정적인 자동적 사고가 높게 나타났으며 심리적 안녕감을 높게 지각하는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 구조 방정식 모형을 통해 애착이 부정적인/긍정적인 자동적 사고에 영향을 주고, 부정적인/긍정적인 자동적 사고가 다시 심리적 안녕감에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타나 자동적 사고가 애착과 심리적 안녕감 사이를 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 애착의 이해에 따른 대학생의 상담 지도를 위한 시사점을 제시하고, 후속연구를 제언하였다.
