매력적인 수업을 위한 M-ARCS-V 동기설계 모형 = M-ARCS-V Motivational Design Model for Attractive Instruction

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 학습자에게 매력적인 수업을 위한 M-ARCS-V 동기설계 모형을 탐구하는 데 목적이 있다. 동기는 학습행동을 촉발하는 원동력이다. Keller는 동기관련 연구를 종합하여 동기유발 수업을 촉진하는 ARCS 모형과 MVP 이론 그리고 ARCS 모형에 자발성 요인을 추가한 ARCS-V 모형을 제시하였다. 최근에는 ARCS-V 모형에 마인드셋을 추가한 M-ARCS-V 모형이 소개되고 있다. M-ARCS-V 모형은 마인드셋(mindset), 주의집중(attention), 관련성(relevance), 자신감(confidence), 만족감(satisfaction), 자발성(volition)의 여섯 가지 범주로 구성된다. 성장 마인드셋으로 학습동기를 유발하여 주의를 집중하게 하고 수행목표를 학습자의 실생활이나 경험과 관련시키고, 학습 과정에 자신감 있게 참여하여 성공의 기쁨을 통한 만족감과 강화된 자발성으로 동기를 지속적으로 유지하는 선순환 과정을 통해 수업의 효과와 효율은 물론 수업의 매력을 고양시키려는 전략이다. M-ARCS-V 모형은 유치원과 초중등은 물론 대학과 평생교육에 이르기까지 모든 분야의 수업에 적용할 수 있으나, 국내에서는 ARCS 모형 관련 연구는 많이 이루어진 반면, M-ARCS-V 모형에 대한 연구는 이루어지지 않고 있다. M-ARCS-V 모형과 4차 산업혁명 시대 최첨단 테크놀로지를 활용한 다양한 동기유발 전략을 통해 학습자에게 매력적인 수업을 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to investigate the M-ARCS-V motivational design model for attractive instruction. Motivation is the driving force triggering learning behavior. Keller developed the ARCS model integrating motivation related theories and research, and proposed the ARCS-V model adding volition to the ARCS model. Recently, the M-ARCS-V model adding mindset to the ARCS-V model is introduced. The M-ARCS-V model is composed of six categories including mindset, attention, relevance, confidence, satisfaction, and volition. Each category is composed of sub-elements. The M-ARCS-V model is an optimal strategy to facilitate attractive instruction. The M-ARCS-V model can be used in all areas of instruction including elementary, secondary, and higher education. Until now, a lot of research on the theoretical background and empirical effectiveness of the ARCS model are reported, but the M-ARCS-V model is not yet introduced and researched in Korea. Integrating the M-ARCS-V model with the technology of the era of the fourth industrial revolution will facilitate appealing and attractive instruction for learners.
