The purpose of this study was to examine the factor analysis of the activities of daily living(ADL) scale used in the ‘Korean Longitudinal Study of Ageing(KLoSA)’, launched in 2006, has developed a research network with ‘Health and Retirement Study(HRS, US)’, ‘Studies on Health and Retirement in Europe(SHARE, EU)’, and ‘English Longitudinal Study of Ageing(ELSA, UK). The KLoSA team has designed their research with focusing on the following points, in order to use KLoSA for international comparative studies. Therefore this study was to test the measurement invariance of ADL used in KLoSA over the panel studies. The study sample consisted of over-50 aged who answered ADL scale used in KLoSA, HRS, SHARE and ELSA in 2014.
First, the data was extracted from the 4th wave of the KLoSA and was analyzed using a confirmatory factor analysis and as multiple-group confirmatory factor analysis. The results show that the ADL scale used in KLoSA fits well and it is invariant across gender, education group and wealth group. In addition, the age groups are invariant, between under 65-aged and over 65-aged and between from 65 aged to 74 aged and over 75-aged. Second, the data was extracted from KLoSA, HRS, SHARE, ELSA and was analyzed using a multiple-group confirmatory factor analysis. The resul
