With the continuous interaction amongacademics to combine basic appliced research with phenomenological approaches, the goals or objectives of physical education will continue to move towards a more existential perspective. Sports and movement are being seen from a more fundamental perspective, as models of self-expression. Dr. Kleinman`s objectives are beginning to be taken more seriously by the general mainstream. A syncretic approach, one emphasizing common basic elements among different systems, is gathering adherents. Viewing and attempting to understand Maslow`s peak Experience from an existential perspective and with a syncretic approach allows us the freedom to speculate on such interesting questions as: 1) Can or should subjective feeling of wholeness be seen as a goal of physical education? 2) Can there be a structure or process towards a peak experience? 3) How can concentration, an activity requiring an object, be related to the concept of intuitive movement? 4) Can common elements be found which syncretize historically unrelated approaches to physical education? The application of the framework of Buddhist spiritual practice of Chinul(보조국사) to physical education differs an existential perspective and a syncretic approach. The structure of martial art practice may be used as a model for this application.
