The purpose of this study is on the establishment of a theory that was ideally conceived by the Cho Sun, also was regarded as one of the ideas about a man`s well being. Data was obtained by bibliographic researches mainly with the Bo Yang Ji, a well-known medical publication by Seo You Goo(1764-1845). The following factors were studied and discussed; 1) The motivation for the publishment of Bo Yang Ji 2) The philosophy of a man`s well being conceived by the Positive school in Cho Sun Dynasty. 3) The technical method and the significance of a man`s well being. Following results were directed after the consideration of above study; 1) Seo You Goo was stimulated by the publishing plan of a agricultural book-this plan was made under the reign of Jeong Jo(1752-1899) in the later period of Cho Sun Dynasty-finally completed his book Bo Yang Ji. This book was written about a lot of Taoistic exercises and mostly was based on the traditional Chinese medicine-could be used as a health book nescessary for a daily life in a farm. 2) According to the mention by Seo You Goo, the fundamental idea about a man`s well being comes from the idea of a human life without any physical or mental damages until he dies. The idea implies a man`s physical, mental and social well being after all. 3) The practice of the technical method for the above-mentioned idea of a man`s well being is divided into the passive-which will be achieved by relieving or moderating the body-and the active-which will be achieved by Do In. The significance of the Do In method presented in Bo Yang Ji is on its transforming variety of individual-physical activities applicable to the means of medical gymnastics for the masses.
