현대 철학자들의 바울 해석 비교 연구: 바디우, 아감벤, 지젝을 중심으로, 한국적 상황에서

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 현대 철학자들이 자신들의 철학 속에 부활시킨 바울 사상을 조직신학적⋅종교철학적 관점에서 비교 연구하고, 이를 통해 세월호 이후 한국적 상황에 대한 신학적 응답을 마련하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 특히 로마서를 중심으로 바울의 신학을 철학적으로 해석한 이들로는 바디우(Alain Badiou), 아감벤(Giorgio Agamben), 지젝(Slavoj Zizek)을 들 수 있는데, 본 연구는 이들의 바울 해석에 관심을 기울인다. 기독교 신학을 평가하고 재해석하는 가운데 서구 지성계를 주도하고 있는 이들의 철학적 작업은 국내에서도 주목을 받으며 인기를 더하고 있다. 이들의 저술들 또한 한국 사회에 비교적 많이 소개되어 있지만, 이들의 사상 속에서 평가되며 재/해석되고 있는 기독교신학, 특히 바울 신학에 대한 신학계의 응답은 충분하지 않은 편이다. 한편, 로마서의 해석 문제는 종교개혁 500주년을 맞는 2017년에 즈음하여 더욱 중요한 주제로 부각되어야 할 필요가 있다. 루터의 종교개혁 사상이 크게 빚지고 있는 문서가 바로 바울의 로마서인 바, 종교개혁 500주년을 맞아 이 역사적 사건을 재음미하여 한국적 상황에서 새로운 도약을 시도하고자 할 때 로마서에 대한 이해를 근본적으로 재검토하는 것이 무엇보다 절실하겠기 때문이다.
이러한 연구가 필요한 이유를 두 가지로 부연할 수 있다.
첫째, 이들의 철학이 한국사회에서 인기를 끌고 있는 이유와 이들의 바울 해석 사이에 어떤 상관관계가 있는가를 살피는 일은, 한국의 기독교계가 갈수록 사회적으로 외면당하고 있는 현실을 신학적으로 성찰하여 새로운 돌파구를 마련할 계기를 제공할 것이기 때문이다. 이들의 철학은 모두 오늘의 신자유주의 시장체제를 중심으로 강화⋅확산되고 있는 추상적 보편주의와 유물론적 민주주의에 대항하고 새로운 대안을 모색하는데 있어서 바울의 은총론이 중요함을 역설하고 있다. 한국사회는 그 어떤 사회보다도 시장경제가 그 철학과 실행에 있어서 경제 영역을 넘어 다양한 사회 영역으로 그 세력을 확장하고 있는 사회, 마이클 센델(Michael Sandel)의 말을 빌자면 “시장경제를 가진(having a market economy) 시대에서 시장사회를 이룬(being a market society) 시대”로 휩쓸려 들어간 사회라고 할 수 있다. 이들 세 철학자들의 바울 해석은 한편으론 한국사회의 문제를, 다른 한편으론 한국사회 속에서 격리되고 있는 한국교회의 문제를 매개하며 해결할 수 있는 단초를 제공할 수 있다.
둘째, 500여 년 전 루터의 종교개혁을 견인한 사상은 그의 로마서 3장 19~31절의 해석인 바, 이 문단을 품고 있는 로마서

The purpose of this study is to compare Paul’s thoughts revived in the philosophy of modern philosophers from the viewpoint of systematic theology and philosophy of religion, and to prepare a theological answer to the Korean situation of post-Sewol-ferry-disaster. In particular, Alain Badiou, Giorgio Agamben, and Slavoj Zizek are the philosophical interpreters of Paul 's theology, focusing on Romans. While evaluating and reinterpreting Christian theology, the philosophical work of them who are leading the western intellectual community is gaining popularity in Korea. Their writings are also relatively well introduced in Korean society. But the theological response to their philosophical re/interpretation of theology, especially of Paul's theology, which has been evaluated and reinterpreted in their thoughts, is not sufficient. On the other hand, the issue of interpretation of the Romans needs to be highlighted as a more important theme by the year 2017, the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. Because Luther’s thought of the Reformation largely owed to Paul's Romans, and when making a new leap will be attempted in the Korean situation by reminding this historical event with the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, it is desperately more necessary to fundamentally review the und
