In this study, the seismic analysis procedure of foundation-soil interaction system is presented.
With the assumption of isotropic material properties and infinitesimal strain theory, the boundary element models of three dimensional foundation plate an semi-infinite soil medium are coupled together, using the compatiblity condition of displacements and equilibrium condition of surface tractions on the contact surface.
Through the results of the examples in which the seismic responses of the foundation subjected to the SV-wave and the P-Wave, it is shown that the translational motions are decreased and the rocking motion is occured in higher frquency range.
