경영 정보 시스템을 적용한 미디아 서비스의 전산화 계획에 관한 연구 = Designing Computerized Management Sustem for Media Services in the Use of Management

Current conditions for managing media services in higher education are dynamic rather than static. They indicate a need to computerize cataloging, circulation, booking, scheduling, billing, accounting, etc., since changes in modern technology and media services occur in an unpredictable manner.
Faced with a situation in which a modest expansion of services can seem like an insurmountable task, many media centers looking to various computer systems for a solution that can perform lots of logistical tasks with quality and effectiveness. Unfortunately, computers for automation are not a perfect remedy for the educational system. Decisions about information of services are difficult, costly, complex, and far-reaching in their effects.
The purpose of this paper is to improve the planning process used by the media centers with the addition of a Management Information System (MIS). Planning is one of the most important and difficult task in modern management: however, it is often used by many organizations to allocate appropriate and wise resources. And planning is a process which may result in a comprehensive and strategic plan for a computerized media service program. Thus the significance of this paper lies in providing a direction for management process of media centers and for higher educational system.
This paper presents an analysis of media center as an open system to study how the media center absorbs environmental resources and influences, how it processes input into output through management, and how it returns its product to the environment. And it explores trends and issues of using computers in media services to provide a perspective from which new technology may be examined.
To design a computerized management system, the paper leads into a strategic planning which a incorporates the mission, goals, objective, strategies, implementation plan, and evaluation mechanism of a media center. It provides general and procedural information on how to adapt strategic planning with MIS into circulation service, and describes and operational approach to identify and transform the elements to strategy set for a computerized management system in media services.
