      다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

      The purpose of this study is to develop optimum design program for pivot axis in automotive wiper system to have maximum performance of wiping quality and to reduce the development period. In the optimum program the distribution of error angle which is the deviation angle between the blade and the normal to windshield surface was controlled. The summation of the error angle in the whole range of pivot rotation was minimized with constraints to limit design parameters and min/max error angles. The optimum design program was shown to be reliable and useful for pivot axis design. Different initial designs for the optimization lead to almost same optimum design which showed much improved wiping quality, comparing to those of initial designs.
