프랑스 에코뮤지엄 사례 연구: 부르고뉴 지방을 중심으로 = A Study of Ecomuseums in France: Focused on Burgundy Region

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aims to understand how the ecomuseums contribute to vitalization of the community. To carry out the research, the ecomuseums of Le Creusot-Monceau, La Bresse Bourguignonne, and Le Morvan in Burgundy Region were chosen to identify their type and roles they play to develop the community. The conception of ecomuseum that has originated from innovative new museum movement and another definition on ecomuseum suggested by Georges Henri Riviere, that is environment, cultural or industrial heritage should be preserved in the field. In addition, the ecomuseum is managed by residents and its activities are related to develop the community. That is the origin and background of the ecomuseum.
This research also studies on the examples of ecomuseums in the 1970s and 1980s: Ecomusée du Creusot-Monceau, Ecomusée du Morvan,Ecomusée de la Bresse Bourguignonne. By investigating the roles of these ecomuseums, it is possible to understand how declining agricultural or industrial area found the ways to preserve and utilize local cultural heritage.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 프랑스 에코뮤지엄 중 부르고뉴 지방의 크뢰조ㆍ몽소, 브레스 부르기뇬, 모르방 등 세 개 지역의 에코뮤지엄 사례를 통하여 그 종류와 역할을살펴보고 지속적인 지역 발전과 지역 활성화에 어떤 기여를 하는 가를 밝혀보는 데 있다. 혁신적인 ‘신박물관 운동’에서 기원한 에코뮤지엄의 개념에 비추어보면, 조르쥬 앙리 리비에르가 제시한 정의, 즉 환경, 문화 및 산업 유산은 현지 보존되어야 한다. 아울러 기존의 박물관의 운영과는 달리 에코뮤지엄은 주민들에 의해 운영되며, 이들의 활동은 곧 지역사회의 발전과 연계된다. 이것이 에코뮤지엄의 탄생 기원이자 목표이다.
본고는 1970년대 초 탄생하여 1980년대부터 급증한 프랑스의 에코뮤지엄 사례를 최초의 에코뮤지엄인 크뢰조ㆍ몽소 에코뮤지엄이 탄생한 르 크뢰조가 속해 있고 현재에도 비교적 활발한 활동을 펼치고 있는 부르고뉴(Bourgogne)지방의 세 지역인 크뢰조ㆍ몽소 도시공동체 에코뮤지엄(Ecomusée du Creusot-Monceau)과 모르방 지역 에코뮤지엄(Ecomusée du Morvan) 그리고 브레스 부르기뇬 지역 에코뮤지엄(Ecomusée de la Bresse Bourguignonne)을 연구한다. 이들 에코뮤지엄의 종류와 역할을 살펴봄으로써 산업화 시대 이후의 황폐화하고 낙후되어 가던 농촌 사회와 후기 공업지역이 지속적인 지역의 발전과 활성화를 위하여 어떤 방식으로 지역 문화유산을 보존하고 활용하였는지를 이해할 수 있다.
