      The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of theratainment trunk exercises that involve eye movements as a physical therapy method to improve patients’ balance functions and their weight distribution index and stability index results. Twenty healthy adults were randomly divided into two groups and performed the exercises five times a week over a four-week period. For both groups, each patient’s weight distribution index and stability index results were assessed using the tetrax interactive balance system. ANOVA was used to analyze the before and after the intervention. Only the experimental group showed statistically significant changes in their weight distribution index and stability index(p<.05), and the result of interaction between groups and period showed significant increase in weight distribution index and stability index(p<.05). Trunk exercises using eye movements are effective for improving balance functions and may therefore be considered as a physical therapy method for patients with loss of balance functions.
