생물학의 성 담론에 대한 철학적 성찰

국문 초록 (Abstract)

간략하게 각 연구원들이 검토하고자 했던 바를 소개하자면 우선 연구원 ‘갑’은 생물학적 성 담론에 대한 규범적 비판을 검토하고자 했다. 생물학적 성 담론에 대해서는 다양한 방식의 비판이 제기되고 있다. 이에 연구원 갑은 이와 같은 비판의 잘잘못을 가리고 나아가 생물학적 성 담론이 오히려 일반적인 우려와는 달리 오히려 여권 신장의 한 축이 될 수 있음을 밝히고자 했다. 다음으로 연구원 ‘을’은 현대이후 자연과학이 독점한 객관성을 탐구하고, 이를 통하여 인간 본성에 기반한 성 담론의 이데올로기와 진리를 밝히고자 했다. 나아가서 연구원 을은 "성이란 무엇인가"라는 현대 특유의 과학기술적 차원의 접근을 넘어서서, "우리가 성을 이해하고 실천하는 방식"을 바탕으로 "성에 대한 이해의 지평을 인간 존재 자체와 인간의 사회적 삶에 대한 이해의 지평", 즉 문화적 지평으로까지 성 담론을 확장시키고자 했다. 이를 위해 하버마스를 중심으로, 형식적 합리화와 인간소외로 대변되는 현대의 한계를 넘어서서 현대의 완성을 지향하며 인간해방과 자유의 실현을 완성하려는 노력의 일환으로 성 담론을 조망하고자 했다. 마지막으로 연구원 ‘병’은 일반적으로 수용되고 있는 생물학적 진화론과는 근본적으로 매우 다른, 성 담론에 대한 푸코의 해석을 검토하고 그의 입장을 대치시킴으로서 성 담론에 대한 생물학적 관점의 한계와 문제점을 푸코의 담론 분석에 비추어 재검토해 보고자 했다. 이러한 과정에서 연구원 ‘을’은 자연스럽게 푸코의 철학적 입장이 드러날 뿐 아니라 성 담론에 대한 새로운 관점이 가져올 수 있는 다양한 이해의 지평에 접근할 것을 기대하고 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

If we introduce our task briefly, first, researcher A tried to examine normative criticism against biological explanation of sex. There are various kinds of criticism concerning biological explanation of sex. Researcher A wanted to tell the right and wrong of this criticism. Moreover, A tried to show biological explanation of sex could help extension of women's influence. Second, researcher B criticized the fallacy of objectivity of natural science nowadays. Through this, B wanted to show the ideological aspect of sexual discourse which is founded on human nature. B also wanted to extend sexual discourse to the horizen of culture. Finally, researcher C examined Michael Foucault's interpretation of sexual discourse, which is quite different from biological evolutionary explanation. C tried to criticize the limits and problems of the view of biology contrasting with foucault's point of view. Through this kind of examination, C expected to reveal the philosophical view of Foucault naturally, and approach to various kinds of horizen of understanding of sexual discourse.
