여성결혼이민자 문화적응척도 개발연구 = Development of an Acculturation Scale for Female Marriage Immigrants in Korea

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 기존 문화적응 척도분석, 포커스집단인터뷰, 설문조사연구등을 실시하여 여성결혼이민자의 문화적응을 측정하는 척도를 개발하였다. 문화적응척도는 문화적응을 설명하는 이중차원모델(bi-dimensional model)에 근거를 두고 한국문화적응척도와 모국문화유지척도의 2개 척도로 구성되었으며, 서울, 경기 및 충청지역의 여성결혼이민자 554명을 대상으로 조사연구를 실시하여 구성된 척도에 대한 검증을 실시하였다. 탐색적 요인분석결과 한국문화적응척도는 한국인과의 교류, 한국어 이해 및 구사, 한국전통 및 관습이해, 한국대중매체선호, 한국정체성, 그리고 한국음식선호의 6개요인, 총 26문항으로 구성되었으며, 한국문화적응 개념에 대한 누적설명량은 66.8%, 신뢰도 분석결과 내적일치도 계수는 .93으로 높게 나타났다. 모국 문화유지척도는 모국음식선호, 모국인과의 교류, 모국어 사용, 모국정체성, 모국전통유지, 그리고 모국대중매체선호의 6개 요인, 총 19문항으로 구성되었으며, 모국문화유지 개념에 대한 누적설명량은 67.1%, 신뢰도 분석결과 내적일치도 계수는 .87로 양호한 수준으로 산출되었다. 이 척도는 한국사회에서 생활하는 여성결혼이민자들의 문화적응과 관련한 경험을 반영한 측정도구로서 개발된 척도가 여성결혼이민자를 대상으로 한 연구 및 실천의 다양한 영역에서 활용성이 있을 것으로 기대되었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aimed to develop an acculturation scale for female marriage immigrants living in Korea. Acculturation is defined as a construct which has two independent dimension: ‘adaptation to the mainstream’s culture’ and ‘maintenance of mother culture’ in terms of bi-dimensional acculturation model. Based on this conceptualization, literature review, focus group interview with female marriage immigrants, consultation from professionals of multi-cultural study, and a survey using a purposive sampling in Seoul, Kyeonggi, and Chungcheong area were conducted for the development of the scale. In total 554 female marriage immigrants data were analysed. As a result of an exploratory factor analysis, 6 factors were revealed in ‘adaptation to Korean culture scale’ and ‘maintenance of mother culture scale’ respectively. ‘Adaptation to Korean culture scale’ was consisted of 26 items and 6 factors were as follows: social interaction with Koreans, using and understanding of Korean language, understanding of Korean tradition and custom, preference for Korean mass-media, Korean identity, and preference for Korean food. These factors showed 66.8% explanatory power and the scale had Cronbach’s alpha .93 in a reliability test. ‘Maintenance of mother culture scale’ was consisted of 19 items and 6 factors were as follows: preference for mother country’s food, social interaction with people from mother country, using mother tongue, mother country’s identity, maintenance of mother country’s tradition, and preference for mother country’s mass-media. These factors showed 67.1% explanatory power and Cronbach’s alpha .87 in reliability test. Also, these two scales revealed proper validity in terms of additional validity test. Based on these findings, implications and limitations of the study were discussed.
