The purpose of this thesis is to study methods of increasing productivity of stitching process through improving factory layout.
This thesis found medium and small size factories characterized by multi-kind, small quantity type production. Most footwear facroties are small production capability and labour intensive with small profit margins, but studies of plant layouts for medium to small size factories are virtually non-existent.
This thesis applied a Group Tcchnology to the stitching process of factories and achieved good results in multi-kind and smaller massproduction factories.
The results of this thesis included :
1) Production line distance shortend by 248.7m(45.29%)
2) Increased production quantity by 31,350 pairs (20.78%) per month
3) Reduced working personell by 12 Stitchers (3%)
4) Reduced the number of stitching machines by 24 Machines (9.7%)
