The Communitarian Forestry Enterprises emerged at the end of the last century with the struggle for the re-appropriation of nature held indigenous and peasant communities in Latin America, these companies give life to a social, economic and ecological alternative dynamic, which is identified as way of overcoming of results being generated by the capitalist forest industry. However, it also presents problems related to the type of enterprise management, which cannot be addressed without a theoretical approach that accounts for the main features that have these businesses. This paper provides elements for an approach through commonality and cooperative self-management the phenomenon of Communitarian Forestry Enterprises and its main problems. It is used the case of Community Forest Enterprise of San Pedro el Alto, Oaxaca, Mexico to discuss the problems identified by employees of the company through a qualitative analysis used as data collection tools questionnaires and participatory methodology. We conclude that the cooperative has the main features of the community forest enterprises and their problems are similar, however, have differences in the management of natural resources and scope in terms of progress for the community.
