스웨덴의 학제적 디자인교육 사례 연구 : 말뫼대학교 K3를 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 1990년대 중반 이후 새로운 움직임을 보이고 있는 스웨덴 디자인의 특성과 디자인교육의 변화 방향을 현장방문 연구를 통해 고찰한 것이다. 스웨덴 정부는 유럽연합(EU) 가입 이후 정보화·세계화 사회가 필요로 하는 새로운 고등교육 모델의 창출이라는 시대적 요구에 부응하기 위해서 기존의 스웨덴 대학 모델과는 다른 특성을 지닌 말뫼대학교를 1998년에 전격적으로 설립하였다. 학제적 디자인교육을 통해 디자인교육의 질적 향상을 모색하고자 하는 말뫼대학교 디자인대학(K3)에서는 정보 기술 뉴미디어를 디자인 문화 사회에 적극적으로 접목시킴으로써 보다 심미적이고 기술적이며 비평적인 관점에서 이론과 실기가 통합된 디자인 교육을 해나갈 수 있는 디자인교육 모델을 만들고자 노력해왔다. 이러한 방식은 기존의 전통적인 스칸디나비아 디자인교육과는 사뭇 다른 것이다. 디자인교육과 연구의 미래지향적 모델에 대한 논의와 다양한 시도가 이루어지고 있는 국내 상황을 고려해 볼 때 말뫼대학교에서 시도되고 있는 학제적 디자인교육 사례를 통해 스웨덴 디자인교육의 변화 방향 및 그 특성을 파악해보는 것은 의미가 있다고 생각한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study will consider the current design education and its characteristics in Sweden under spotlight after 90s and their search for a new direction of design education in turbulent change of 21st century sociocultural environment. After joining EU the Swedish government established Malmo University for the purpose of meeting the current demand which is to create new higher education model coping with 21st century informational global society. Malmo University leads the integrated design education of theory and practice from the perspective of "aesthetic-technological-critical" orientation while connecting cutting-edge information technology and new media with design culture and society. These trials launched by Malmo University testify that it has applied actively the contents and necessity of integrated design education to its practical education. In these days there are burgeoning discussions about a futuristic model of design education and research in Korea. Considering this domestic movement this case study of Malmo University gives us a chance to compare the changing directions of design education in both countries.
