In this study, metal powders were added during the mixing process of the base and hardener for marine chocking compounds to increase the pot life. After mixing and curing with the added metal powders, the exothermic temperature, pot life, surface hardness, compressive strength, and impact strength were measured. Through these measurements, the effects of the type and amount of metal powder on the mechanical properties of the chocking compound were investigated. Aluminum and iron powders increased the pot life, whereas copper and zinc powders showed no change in pot life. Surface hardness and compressive strength remained consistent regardless of the type and amount of metal powder, although compressive strength showed a slight increase. No volatile emissions were observed during the curing process, regardless of the type or amount of metal powder used.
