A transition from the industrialized society to the information-oriented society has transformed the paradigm of education. Cyber education has emerged as a new approach, and established itself as one of the key methods for production and acquisition of knowledge. Among many components of cyber education, contents that enable face-to-face interaction with participants play an increasingly important role for success of cyber education. For this project, teaching strategies were established to stimulate students’ learning motivation and ensure absorbing learning so that efficient education on food poisoning prevention could be possible. The educational program was developed to encourage self-leading education instead of teacher-oriented one-directional lectures. A variety of multimedia programs were applied to maximize the effect of learning contents. For middle and high school students, a story-telling method was applied whereby teacher and student avatars appear to keep students’ attention and interest. Animations and multimedia videos were inserted to engage the students. As for catering facilities and food service facilities sessions, the learners are adults and their age varied between 30s and 50s. Animations were produced to describe real-life situations to keep the viewers interested. Video materials were edited and inserted in several places along the lessons. Basically, the learning structure consists of three stages: intro, lesson and outro. In the intro stage, students check on relevant cases, videos and learning goals. In the lesson stage, learning is based on diverse multimedia materials. In the outro stage, key points of the lesson are repeated to wrap up the session. The cyber education program was produced for different types of learners, and a participant can choose sessions that best serve their needs. The materials for middle and high school students are expected to be used as teaching assistant tools in school classes.
