In this study, branched polymers containing ethylene oxide unit in different composition were synthesized by radical copolymerization of poly(ethylene glycol)methyl ether methacrylate(POEM) 950 g/mol(POEM 950) and POEM 450 g/mol(POEM 450). Solid polymer electrolyte was then prepared by the addition of LiClO4 to POEM copolymer in acetonitrile solvent. The thermal transition and electrical properties such as an ionic conductivity and electrochemical stability were evaluated in aspect of lithium ion concentration. The glass transition temperature appeared in the range of -50 ∼ -30 ℃ and changed by the amount of POEM 950 and POEM 450. In addition, polymer electrolytes showed highest ionic conductivity in the copolymer containing weight ratio of POEM 450 and POEM 950 of 25 : 75 and reached to 4.0 × 10-5 S/cm at room temperature. Linear sweep voltammetry measurements showed that the POEM copolymer electrolytes were stable within 2 ∼ 5 V range at room temperature.
