학교구성원들의 정체성과 담론들 간의 역동적 관계: 자율형공립고의 사례분석 = Dynamics of the identities and discourses of school agencies: A case analysis of the Autonomous Public High Schools

By adopting critical discourse analysis, this paper investigates the dynamic relationships among the identities of school agencies on the implementation of certain educational policies. Based on Castells’ (2004) theory of the types of identities(projective, legislative, & resistance identity) and Rogers’ (2004) theory of dynamic interactions among the identities (alignment, conflict, & negotiation). this paper analyzes the identities of school agencies(e.g., principals, teachers, and parents/students) regarding the implementation of Autonomous Public High Schools(APHS). The participating schools of this study are 5 APHSs in the Seoul metropolitan area; for these schools, school executive summery and survey data for the implementation of APHS programs are analyzed. In addition, interviews were administered with the principals, teachers, parents/students in each school. The results are: first, each school has idiosyncratic intents of applying for the APHS program, which are exactly represented in their voices or identities. Second, the identities of the school agencies interact dynamically with each other in terms of alignment, conflict, or negotiation, which are well surfaced in their requests for consulting and suggestions for improvement. This paper’s discussion may provide an exemplary model for analyzing the voices or identities of school agencies upon the implementation of governmental school policies.
