“환경 미술교육”의 특성과 프로그램에 대한 연구 = Studying quality and programs of ecological art education

국문 초록 (Abstract)

황폐해진 자연과 극도로 산업화된 현대 사회에 대한 반작용으로 자연에 대한 관심
이 높아지고 있다. 환경 또는 생태 교육이라고 번역될 수 있는 Ecological
education은 자연이나 자연보호의 필요성에 대해 교육할 뿐만 아니라 자연계에서 발
견되는 원리를 인간 사회에 적용하여 보다 건전하고 조화롭게 만드는데 궁극적인 목적
이 있다. 환경교육은 한국이 가지고 있는 환경문제와 사회문제의 해결책 중의 하나가
될 수 있을 것이라 생각한다. 환경교육에 대한 이해와 한국 실정에 맞는 프로그램 개
발을 돕기 위해서 환경 미술가들의 활동과 다른 나라에서 선행되어진 환경교육 프로그
램에 대해 소개하였다. 또한 성공적인 환경 미술교육을 위해 염두에 두어야 할 사항들
을 요약 정리하여 결론에 실어 보았다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In the recent west, the point of view to the nature is changed from the
object of conquer to the object of coexistence. If we put together some
scholars' opinions like Ittleson, Proshansky, Rivlin, and Winkel,
Lankford, Merchant, and Rifkin, they regarded importantly the organic
relation between human and nature. They insisted the principle of the
nature such as interrelation, un-competition, and systematic thinking to
apply to improve human society more symmetrical and sounder. The aims
of ecological art education are to preserve and restore environment, to
teach the relation between human and the nature, and to restore society
through applying the principle of the nature. It will be helpful to know
activities of ecological artists to understand ecological art education and
to get some idea about it. Therefore, I introduced briefly history of
ecological art and performed ecological education program such as The
Art and the River and The Pickerington Elementary School in the States,
and Save the Trees in England.
