陶質土器의 발생과 확산 = A study on the appearance and the spread of Dojil-ware(陶質土器)

국문 초록 (Abstract)

陶質土器가 삼국시대 고고학연구에 차지하는 비중은 극히 높다. 그럼에도 이 도질토기의 발생은 와질토기로부터의 발전설, 외부의 자극에 의한 출현설 등 다양한 의견이 존재한다. 또 이 토기의 出現時點도 各人各異할뿐 아니라, 登場地點도 嶺南의 특정지역의 일원적 출현설과 영남 각지의 동시다발적인 다원적 발생론 등 분분한 실정이다. 이 연구는 최초의 도질토기가 素文의 兩耳附圓底壺와 小形圓底壺로 나타나는 점에 주목하여, 그배경을 철저히 분석검토하였다. 그 결과 도질토기는 영남의 기왕의 와질토기의 도공들이 중국북방의 二系釉陶罐―兩耳附磁器壺―를 모델로 하여 만든 것임을 알았다. 즉 재래의 와질토기와 이러한 중국북방의 磁器文化요소―窯法·製法·器形―가 결합하여 생성된 고대 낙동강유역 특유의 토기가 陶質土器이다. 이러한 도질토기는 낙동강하류역에서 가장 먼저 생성되어, 일정한 시일이 경과한후 영남의 각지로 확산되어 갔다. 뿐만 아니라 대성동 29호분에서 알 수 있듯이, 최초로 순장, 오르도스형 동복, 보요부금동관 등 중국 북방문화와 동반되는 것임이 각별히 유념되었다. 도질토기의 이러한 점은 가야의 본질을 해명하는 으뜸가는 자료인 동시에 신라중심 역사관의 선입견을 극복하는 중요한 단서가 된다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Dojil Ware is of great importance in archaeological study of the Three Kingdoms Period. However, there are diverse opinions about the appearance of the ceramic-quality pottery such as “the developmental theory from the Wajil pottery” or “the appearance theory by an external stimulus”. There is a diversity of opinion when the pottery appears and where it is emerged; “the unitary appearance theory” in the particular place in the Young-nam area or “the plural appearance theory” in various places in the Young-nam area multiply. In this paper, the background of the appearance of this pottery is analised completely focused that the first Dojil Ware appears in the form of a round bottom pot with two knobs or a small round bottom pot with no pattern. As a result, it is determined that Dojil Ware is produced by the potter of existing Wajil pottery based on a model of the northern Yi-ge ceramic - the ceramic pot with two knobs. In other words, it is Dojil Ware that the existing Wajil pottery and the elements of the ceramic culture - kiln, process of manufacture, form - of northern China combined together, and it is the unique pottery of the ancient Nak-donf river basin. It appears in the downstream area of the Nak-dong River for the first time, then spreads to the various parts of the Young-nam area after a certain period of time. Especially, it is also noted that it shares with the northen culture such as the first burial of the living with the dead, the Ordos-type bronze pot and the gilt bronze crown with jingle ornaments as shown in the No. 29 tomb of Daesungdong tombs. This feature of Dojil Ware should be the best material to define essence of Gaya as well as the important clue to get rid of prejudice of a view of history centered Silla.
