This study deals with both the theoretical and practical issues of school-level curriculum evaluation. In the former part of the article, the issues of curriculum evaluation in general are being discussed: What should be evaluated in the curriculum evaluation? How should curriculum be evaluated? This study suggests that the R&D mechanism of curriculum, curriculum literature, implementation, and outcomes should be evaluated and that curriculum should be evaluated through evaluators` observation, experts` judgement, and consumers` satisfaction. In the latter part of the article, the issues of how to evaluate the 7th national curriculum for the academic high school are being dealt with. This study proposes for the 7th academic high school curriculum evaluation several selective areas and methods which are expected to bring the most benefits in the present context. In conclusion, this study suggests that the old evaluation paradigm should be replaced with the new one, if curriculum evaluation is to carry any positive influence. The old paradigm of curriculum evaluation is characterized with quantitative methods, outsiders` evaluation, and evaluation for accountability. The new evaluation paradigm carries such characteristics as qualitative methods, insiders` evaluation, and evaluation for curriculum improvement.
