국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 글에서는 중국의 개혁개방과 한중수교를 계기로 조선족의 상당수가 중국내 대도시나 한국으로 이주하면서 나타난 민족정체성의 변화 양상을 특히 1990년대 이후 조선족 소설을 대상으로 고찰했다. 이주로 인한 조선족 민족공동체의 변화에 주목하면서, 한국인과의 관계 및 한족과의 관계를 살펴보았다. 이주로 인해 예전 형태의 조선족 공동체의 해체는 막을 수 없는 현실이 되었지만, 작가들 은 여러 작품에서 이에 대한 안타까움을 표시하며 공동체 복원에 대한 희망을 드러냈다. 한국 과 관련한 여러 부정적인 체험에도 불구하고 작품에서는 한국이나 한국인과의 만남을 희망의 상징으로 바라보는 조선족 사회의 인식이 드러났고, 이에 근거할 때 그들의 민족정체성은 한 국과의 상호적 관계 속에서 구축되어야 함을 알 수 있다. 또한 한족과의 관계를 다룬 작품에 서는 그들과의 공존 및 협력을 열린 마음으로 받아들이면서도 조선족 민족공동체 약화를 걱 정하는 의식이 드러나, 민족공동체 약화에 대한 대비책 마련이 시급함을 보여주었다. 조선족 작가의 작품에서 한족들과의 새로운 공존, 융합 관계가 나타나고, 또 한국과 한국인 과의 만남을 긍정적으로 바라보는 작품들이 확인된 사실은 참으로 중요하다. 이러한 작품에 나타난 작가 의식은 곧 조선족 사회의 의식을 대변하는 바, 이는 조선족들이 중국 내에서 소 수민족의 지위에서 보다 더 주류사회에 접근하고 있으며, 동시에 한국인과의 민족정체성의 공 유를 인정한다는 의미를 가진다고 볼 수 있기 때문이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper analyzes the changes of the national/ethnic identities of Korean Chinese (Joseonjok) reflected in their novels of the post-1990s, when Korean Chinese outmigrated to urban areas of China and South Korea in a large scale. Specifically, it focuses on the Korean Chinese relationships with their co-ethnics in South Korea and with Han Chinese respectively in regard to the changes of their communities in China. It found that the post-1990s Korean Chinese novels demonstrate and accept more close and harmonious relationship between Korean Chinese and Han Chinese and they also regard the encounter between Korean Chinese and South Koreans as positive and hopeful phenomenon. Considering the fact that the post-1990s Korean Chinese novels represent the consciousness of Korean Chinese people, the paper concludes that Korean Chinese, as an ethnic minority, are moving closer to mainstream Chinese society while they also share their ethnic identity is shared with their co-ethnics of the peninsula.
