The question of whether English involves overt object movement along with V-movement has been one of the hot issues in recent literatures. This paper supports the argument that a variety of empirical data in English can be better explained by the overt object movement. Such data as the linear order of complements, particle verb form, double object and coordinate constructions are discussed.
