초등 무용교육을 위한 예술통합형 교육 방법론에 관한 연구-모티프 창의력 교실 적용사례를 중심으로- = A Study for Interdisciplinary Primary School Education

In the 7th Curriculum presented by the Ministry of Education & Human Resources Development, dance is dealt with in an integrated instruction. The main purpose of this study is to examine elementary school students` perception and participatory demands about dance instruction for constructing a elementary school student-centered dance curriculum in Korea. For the purpose surveyed elementary school students using `Motif Creative-Power Class` program, which based on Motif Program, initially developed by Yoo, Si-Hyun(Lecturer at SeongKyunKwan University) and Chun, Mi-Hyun(Lecturer at SeoKyeong University), including me. Based on this program, six lesson plans were developed and each of the 40 minute lessons was taught to 35 in the 5th grade elementary school students. The term `Movement Education` is used in this case study and it suggests a student-centered dance class. This study presents a range of practical applications and strategies for employing Motif writing for elementary school students. The students experienced movement, drawing, music, writing, story making and verbal presentation as well as dance analysis with Motif Writing. The original matter of art includes creative activities, so dance is in connection with arts such as the fine arts, music, composition. The conclusions are followed through this project. The symbols of Motif Writing attracted the students` attention, especially the male students. They were actively engaged in the learning process as well as female students. In the process of conceptualizing movement ideas, under the title `Movement through Symbols`, the male students present as structural and dynamic concept about movement. As a result, this study showed the possibility and effectiveness of `Movement Education` through Motif for the elementary dance education. Motif Writing can be a powerful tool and it provides a broader scope for enhancing their intellectual and creative capability. For the students, the class seemed to be athletics or playing with symbols, not only dance class. The findings of this research suggest that movement can be included in an integrated curriculum which ultimately enhances primary school students` learning and develop creativity. Finally, for the developing elementary dance literacy, a new approach to the study of Integrating Motif Writing into theme-based elementary school student`s dance classes will be necessary in this field.
