지역에서 참여적 행위자로서 대학의 역할유형에 관한 실증 분석 = Empirical Analysis of University Role Types as Participating Actors in the Region

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 지역에서 참여적 행위자로서 대학의 역할유형을 전북지역을 중심으로 실증적으로 분석한 것이다. 분석결과를 통해, 대학의 교육, 연구, 사회봉사 기능이 대학의 사회 혁신 기능보다 중시된다는 점을 알 수 있다. 세부적으로 살펴보면, 대학의 교육, 연구 및 사회봉사 기능중에서 혁신기능(신기술 개발), 사회적 자본 창출(자원봉사 활동), 서비스 기능(도서관 개방) 순으로 중요하고, 대학의 사회 혁신 기능중에서는 시민참여 및 민주화(시민참여나 NGO 관련 행사 개최 지원), 정치적 옹호(사회적 약자나 시민 이익대변), 개인적 의사표현 기능(대학평가 관련 성명서 발표) 순으로 중요하다는 점을 알 수 있다. 결국 대학이 지역사회와의 관계에서 혁신기능(신기술 개발)이 가장 중요하고, 사회적 자본 창출(자원봉사 활동), 시민참여 및 민주화, 서비스기능(도서관 개방), 정치적 옹호(사회적 약자나 시민 이익 대변), 개인적 의사표현 기능(대학평가 관련 성명서 발표) 순으로 중요하다는 점을 알 수 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 정책적 함의로서 첫째, 지역에서 참여적 행위자로서 대학이 제 역할을 충실히 수행하기 위해서는 무엇보다도 신기술이나 새로운 아이디어 창출 등 혁신기능을 제고하는 것이 가장 중요하다는 점을 제시하였다. 둘째, 대학의 기능 변화로서 자원봉사 활동 등과 같은 사회적 자본 창출의 매개체로서 대학이 중요하다는 점이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study empirically analyzes the role types of universities as participant actors in the Jeonbuk area. Through the analysis results, it can be seen that the education, research, and social service functions of universities are more important than the social innovation functions of universities. In detail, among the education, research, and social service functions of the university, it is important in the order of innovation function (new technology development), social capital creation (volunteer activity), service function (opening the library), and citizen participation in the university’s social innovation function And democratization (civil participation or NGO-related events to be held), political advocacy (social underprivileged or civic interest representation), and personal expression function (publishing statements related to university evaluation). In the end, the innovation function (developing new technologies) is the most important in the university’s relationship with the community, social capital creation (volunteering), citizen participation and democratization, service function (opening the library), political advocacy (representing socially weak or citizen interests), And personal decision-making skills (publishing statements related to university evaluation) in order of importance. Therefore, this study suggested that, as a policy implication, first, it is most important to improve innovative functions such as creating new technologies or creating new ideas, in order for the university to fulfill its role as a participatory actor in the region. Second, the university is important as a medium of social capital creation, such as volunteer activities, as a function of the university.
