權近의 五經 인식 - 經學과 經世論의 연결을 중심으로 - = A study on Kwon Geun(權近) s understanding of the Five Classics

Kwon Geun(權近) defined the basic characteristics of the Five Classics(五經) and the relations of them based on the Theory of Essence and Function(體用論). In the Theory of Essence and Function, Function(用) has the practical character because it means the realization of basic principles of human society based on the law of nature. Kwon Geun paid attention to the side of Function(用) in the Five Classics. It means that Kwon Geun regarded the Five Classics as the texts for the theory of governance(經世論).
As a result, Kwon Geun s studies of Confucian classics(經學) connected closely with the theory of governance.
The Unity of heaven and human beings(天人合一論) was not only the most important theory of Kwon Geun s studies of Confucian classics but also the theoretical basis for his theory of governance. The key principle of the Unity of heaven and human beings, the embodiment of the human morality coincided with the law of nature had the meaning of the realization of ideal administration and society, so the Unity of heaven and human beings could be the most positive theory of governance.
In the Five Classics Kwon Geun searched for the cases of embodiment of the Unity of heaven and human beings which could be political models for the future generations. And he carried out research on those cases, established his own theory of governance. The results of his research were the O-Gyeong Cheongyeon-rok(五經淺見錄/ Brief Annotation on the Five Classics). Kwon Geun stated his principles of governance in Juyeok Cheon-gyeonrok(周易淺見錄/ Brief Annotation on the Book of Change), and described the ideal society from the viewpoint of establishment and practice of Li(禮) in Yaegi Cheon-gyeonrok(禮記淺見錄/ Brief Annotation on the Book of Rites). He also demonstrated the historical validity of his theory of governance in Si Cheon-gyeonrok(詩 淺見錄/ Brief Annotation on the Book of Poetry), Seo Cheon-gyeonrok(書淺見錄/ Brief Annotation on the Book of Documents) and ChunChu Cheon-gyeonrok(春秋淺見錄/ Brief Annotation on Spring and Autumn Annals) by showing the cases of realizing the Unity of heaven and human beings which were happened in ancient China.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

권근(權近)은 체용론(體用論)에 입각하여 오경(五經) 간의 관계및 각 경서의 근본 성격을 규정하였다. 체용론에서 ‘용(用)’은 천리 (天理)에 기초한 인간 사회의 근본 원리·원칙을 현실에 맞게 구현 하는 것을 의미하며, 따라서 경세적·실천적 성격을 갖는다. 권근이 오경의 내용에서 ‘용’의 측면에 주목했다는 것은 그가 오경을 인간 사회의 근본 원리·원칙뿐만 아니라 그것을 현실에서 구현할 수 있는 경세적·실천적 방법도 포괄하고 있는 경세론(經世論)의 텍스트로 이해했음을 보여준다. 그 결과 권근의 경학(經學)은 경세론의 성격을 갖게 되었다.
권근의 천인합일론(天人合一論)은 그의 경학 체계를 일관하는 핵심 이론일 뿐만 아니라 경세론의 이론적 근거가 되었다. 천인합일 론의 기본 원칙인 ‘천도(天道)에 부합하는 인도(人道)의 실천’은 곧‘이상적인 정치·사회의 구현’이라는 의미를 가지므로, 따라서 천인 합일론은 가장 적극적인 경세의 이론이 된다고 할 수 있다. 권근은 경서의 내용 중에서 현실 정치의 귀감으로 삼을 만한 천인합일의 원칙과 사례들을 발견하고, 이를 연구하여 자신의 경세론을 정립하 였는데, 그 결과물이 바로 《오경천견록(五經淺見錄)》이다.
권근은 <오경체용합일지도(五經體用合一之道)>에서 규정한 오경의 체용 관계에 기초하여 각 《천견록》별로 특징 있게 자신의 경세론을 서술하였다. 《주역천견록(周易淺見錄)》에서는 천인합일론에 기초한 경세의 원리·원칙을 피력하였고, 《예기천견록(禮記淺見 錄)》에서는 천인합일의 원칙이 구현된 이상 사회의 모습을 ‘예(禮) 의 확립과 실천’이라는 측면에서 서술하였다. 그리고 《시천견록 (詩淺見錄)》․《서천견록(書淺見錄)》․《춘추천견록(春秋淺見錄)》에 서는 중국 고대 역사에서 나타난 천인합일의 실현 사례들을 보여 줌으로써 자신이 추구한 경세론이 역사적 정당성을 갖는 것임을 증명하였다.
