당뇨병 환자의 적응에 관련된 사회심리학적 요인에 관한 연구 : 환자의 질병에 대한 태도 및 가족지지를 중심으로 = The Study on Psychosocial Factors Related to the Adaptation of Diabetus mellitus Patients

This descriptive study was attempted to analyze the effect of psychosocial factors on adaptation of Diabetus Mellitus patients.
The purpose of this study was to examine if patient's attitude toward Diabetus Mellitus and percepted family support were related to their adaptation.
The subjects consisted of 130 Diabetic out patients and hospitalized Diabetic patients were sampled from March 13th to 25th 1990 at five University Hospitals in Seoul.
Under the theoratical framework of Roy's theory of adaptation, four hypotheses were tested to analyze the effect of psychosocial facto- on adaptation.
Patient's attitude to DM & percepted family support were measured by the tools that Vercruysse (1986) invented. Compliance Health Behavior Questionare developed by Park (1984) and the Zung Self-Rating Depression scale were used to measured the level of adaption. Analysis of data was done using t-test, ANOVA, pearson-correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression.
The results were as follows;
Hypothese 1; "The higher level of positive attitude toward D.M, the higher compliance of health behavior" was supported. (r = .3117, p = .000).
Hypotheses 2: "The higher level of percepted family support, the higher compliance of health behavior" was supported. (r = .3167, p = .000)
Hypotheses 3: "The higher level of positive attitude toward D.M, the lower level of depression," was supported. (r = -.4212, p = .000)
Hypotheses 4: "The higher level of percepted family support, the lower level of Depression was supported.(r = -.2227, p = .0005).
In conclusion, this study revealed that positive attitude toward D.M ＆ percepted family support are the factors related to adaptation of D.M patients.
