사실적 영상물에서 다루는 다양한 층위의 현실과 진실들: 다큐멘터리, 다큐소프(docu-soap) 그리고 리얼리티 프로그램을 중심으로 = The Diversity of Realities and Truths of Factual Programs: Focusing on Documentary, Docu-soap and Reality Show

Documentaries have gained in popularity over the recent years. Along with this trend, factual TV programs, such as reality show and docu-soap have been dominating prime time broadcasts. Nowadays, many of those programs intentionally use the term ``reality`` and/or ``documentary`` to emphasize the connection between them and documentary genre. In this context, this paper examines various notions and boundaries of the factual TV programs. Having identified the dominant modes of documentaries and factual programs, this paper explains the similarities and differences among docu-soap, reality program and documentary based on the various notions of realities and truths. By doing this, this paper intends to address the essences and directions of the fields of documentary, docu-soap and reality show in Particular, and factual TV programs in general.
