      Given that the prevalence came out too low as a result of using the screening test for emotional and behavioral disorders(KISE, 2009)(hereinafter referred to KISE-screening test) in ``a nation-wide survey on special education of 2011``(KISE, 2011), this study aimed to investigate the usability of the KISE-screening test in terms of prevalence, validity, and reliability and to propose opinions on improvement of the test. To do this, KISE-screening test and K-CBCL were completed for 264 students(elementary 119, middle 100, high 45) and the prevalence, validity, and reliability were calculated. The calculations revealed the following results: (a) The prevalence was generally low throughout all school levels(elementary 6.7%, middle 9.0%, high 11%, overall 8.3%). (b) The validity(kappa: κ) was not only generally low throughout all school levels but also kind of largely discrepant among school levels(lower grades of elementary .50, higher grades of elementary .17, middle .22, high .31, overall .29). (c) The reliability(Cronbach a) was generally good in total items throughout all school levels(lower grades of elementary .90, higher grades of elementary .72, middle .83, high .73, overall .83); however, it was kind of discrepant among subscales(Ⅰ~Ⅳ) and was somewhat largely discrepant even in the same subscale according to school levels. These results were discussed and based on the results and discussion, proposed were several opinions on improvement of the KISE screening test in terms of prevalence, validity, reliability, and so forth.
