1930년대 가족사연대기 소설의 형식과 이데올로기 = Form and Ideology of Korean Family History - Chronicle Novels in the late 1930s

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 논문은 1930년대 후반 대하, 봄, 탑 등의 가족사연대기 소설의 형식은 자연적 연속성과 역사적 목적론이라는 두 가지 시간적 계기로 구조화되어 있음을 논증하였다. 후자가 이들 소설의 소년 주인공에 의해 표상된 근대주의적이고 단선적인 시간이라면, 전자의 시간은 가부장에 의해 관장되는 시간으로서 자연의 순환론적 시간의 경향을 띤다. 이 두 시간적 계기는 상반된 것처럼 보이지만, 역사를 사사화 하고 근대에 대한 성찰적 반성이 없다는 점에서 공통된다. 그 결과, 가족사연대기 소설은 근대주의 양식과 전통적 모티프의 결합이라는 파시즘의 이데올로기적 효과를 낳게 되었다. 한편, 가족사연대기 소설은 하층민과 여성을 재현하는 데 있어서 남성 엘리트 중심적 방식을 드러냄으로써, 1920～30년대 한국근대소설사에 일관되게 나타난 재현의 질서와 그 메커니즘을 투명하게 보여주었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In this thesis, I examined form and ideology of Korean family history- chronicle novels in the late 1930s, focusing on time consciousness. These novels, Kim, Nam Chun's A Large Liver[Daeha], Lee, Ki Young's Spring [Bom] and Han, Seol Ya's A Pagoda [Top], have common fea- tures in sense of that their form is made of time consciousness of natural continuity and historical teleology. The former is time conscious- ness controled by patriarches, while the latter is controled by modernism represented as young men in these novels. At the first glance two they seem to be opposed to each other, in fact, they have common principles of privatization of histories and uncritical attitude of modernity, which is also appeared in oder and manner of representation of class and gender. In theses novels, patriarches and young men as elite men was repre- sented as ascetic self by contrast with females and subalterns. Consid- ering combination of modernist mode and traditional motif as a type of fascist ideology, form of these novels, mixing paternalism and moder- nism, cannot help causing in ideological effects of fascism. Moreover, order and manner of representation in these novels was based on imagi- native geography of Imperial Japan.
