Abstract
The purpose of this research was to grasp holistically adolescents' spatial behavior characteristics, especially according to the types of adolescents. The types were senior high school students, college students, and adolescents who were working or preparing for college entrance examination.
Daily spatial behavior and leisure behavior within 6 months were measured. Questionnaire mailing were employed. Subjects were 134 adolescents of 3 different types. Environmental experience characteristics of their daily lives, leisure behavior within past 6 months and future 6 months were identifide.
Major findings were as follows :
First, College students were liberal whereas senior high school students and adolescents who were working and preparing for college were constrained.
Second, Generally, present leisure behavioral characteristics were found restrictive. College students showed more diverse activities than others.
Third, Generally, desired leisure behavior characteristics were found very diverse. The types of leisure behavior showed very desirable compared with present ones. There were also a tendency that places for the leisure activities were desired to cluster around theire houses. This implied places and programs for somewhat diverse adolescents' activities need to be prepared within housing community.
