This study conducted big data analysis to understand the theory and practice of urban regeneration, focusing on academia and media. Through the analysis results, the direction of urban regeneration was proposed in the future. Research data collected data from papers and articles related to urban regeneration. The analysis was conducted using frequency analysis and BERTopic. The main analysis results are as follows. First, academia and media suggested key elements of urban regeneration for regional revitalization. Second, the problem related to urban regeneration is a common concern. Third, Techniques applicable to urban regeneration were noted. In this way, urban regeneration is a multidimensional concept that can be approached from various aspects beyond simply improving space. For future urban regeneration, it is necessary to consider historical and cultural resources, local communities, education and safety, IT technology,. In addition, in order to alleviate the side effects of urban regeneration, an integrated urban regeneration model that combines various aspects related to urban regeneration must be established.
