This study attempts to gain the experience of self-healing and internal growth through art therapy with focus on the researcher's shadow perception, focusing on the basic of Jung's shadow theory. In this process, the researcher developed a phenomenological inquiry method in which they understood the reality of the emotion of anxiety, sought answers to existential questions, and recorded the meaning of their experiences. This study was conducted by doing 10 sessions of art therapy once a week for about 30 minutes once a week from October 12, 2023 to December 8, 2023. The results of this study is summarized as follows; First, shadow recognition in the art therapy process enables the subjects to experience the process of recovering from the unsolved wounds and emotions through the process of consciousness of the shadow as the unconscious content and the finding of shadow positions in their mind world. Second, they experience self-healing and internal growth through the repetitive processes of approaching their pains and encountering suppressed emotions in this art therapy experience. Based on these findings, the significance and limitations of this study were discussed.
