When deploying passenger airbag module, the upper part of housing assembly is deformed like bell mouth (called Bell Mouth) by gas pressure from inflator and it make an impacts on IP surrounding PAB module. results in fracture IP part. A sharp edge of broken IP part could be inflicts injury on occupant directly or makes deployment malfunction with tearing the cushion by sharp edge. However we have not been reliable effect analysis of factors and a systematic improvement procedure for Bell Mouth. It causes additional time and cost in the process of improving Bell Mouth. This paper constructed optimized analysis of method for design factors which effects on Bell Mouth by using Taguchi method and suggested improved technique of simulation for Bell Mouth.
