국어국문학의 중심을 향한 성실한 발걸음 ― 중앙어문학회 <어문론집> 100집 발간의 의미 ― = A sincere step toward the center of Korean language and literature - The significance of the publication of the 100th volume of the Central Language and Literature Society’s The Journal of Lang. & Lit. -

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The Central Language and Literature Society, founded in 1952 and with a legacy of 72 years, launched the The Journal of Lang. & Lit. in 1960 and will publish its 100th volume in December 2024, 64 years since its launch. The fundamental spirit of the Central Language and Literature Society is the firm will and academic sincerity to develop Korean studies through the study of the Korean language and literature and to become the center of the community involved in it. The history of the Central Language and Literature Society can be largely divided into the inception period (1952-1992), when the Department of Korean Language and Literature at Chung-Ang University was the publisher of The Journal of Lang. & Lit.; the growth period (1993-2007), when the graduate school became the publisher of The Journal of Lang. & Lit., and attempted to transform it into a national academic journal; and the development period (2008-present), when The Journal of Lang. & Lit. became a candidate for being listed as a journal and expanded into the national academic scale.
The achievements of the Central Language and Literature Society and The Journal of Lang. & Lit., which has published 100 volumes, are as follows: First,the academic journal founded and published by the Korean Language and Literature Society at Chung-Ang University has grown into a nationally listed academic publication. Second, the periodical grew from being a biennial publication system at the time of its founding into a quarterly system of four publications per year, thus becoming an academic community that contributed to the development of Korean language and literature. Third, the number of papers published in each issue has increased significantly since its launch. Fourth, the Journal of Korean Language and Literature has grown into an important academic publication that reasonably showcases the academic capabilities of the researchers in the field by establishing various systems, such as the Central Language and Literature Society’s bylaws, research ethics regulations, and editorial committee regulations. Fifth, the Society conducts academic research in line with the times through national academic conferences,held twice a year.Finally, starting with the 56thissue in 2013, the Korean language education field has been newly equipped to dynamically adapt to changing times.
