생태산업단지 개발사례와 우리나라 산업단지 개발에의 함의 = Cases of EIP Development and Implications to Industrial Complex Development of Korea

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Industrial complexes have been used as a major tool of industrial policy. But the industrial complexes in Korea are recently giving rise to the various problems that are very difficult to solve in environmental and social aspects. Furthermore, since most of researches and policies dealing with the environmental problems of industrial complex approach the individual firms' dimension, they can't provide any systematic and fundamental solution to environmental pollution problems of industrial complexes. However a new approach which is systematic and is able to overcome this limit appeared recently. This approach named as industrial ecology deals with individual firms' production systems and environmental management as a interwoven whole system that mimics natural ecosystem.
The various principles of industrial ecology are applicable to indusial complex in reality. They generally name this industrial complex EIP(Eco-Industrial Park). Now the successful cases of EIPs in advanced countries provide very meaningful and significant suggestions to the existing complexes and complex development policy facing serious crisis in Korea. Therefore I studied the meaning of EIP development and analyzed EIP development cases of foreign countries. And f pointed out the problems of industrial complex development policy in Korea and suggested industrial ecological alternatives based on these research results.
