대학 학업중단 여부에 영향을 미치는 1학년 적응 과정 분석 -대학 중도탈락생의 이동 경로 구조 기초 연구- = A Study on College Freshmen’s Adaptation Process Influencing on the Dropout - A Basic Research of the College Dropouts' Mobility Path and Structure -

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study examines the change tendency for the college freshmen's dropout plan during the period of college adaptation process, relations between plan and carrying-out, and the individual, family-background, and college institutional environment disparities of change tendency for the college freshmen's adaptation process between dropout group and academic persistence group. The results of analysis are as follows; First, college freshmen's stop-out plan and dropout plan are more increasing at the end of the year than the beginning of the year.
Whereas the uncertain groups about stop-out plan are decreasing, those of dropout plan are increasing. Second,the freshmen's enrollment status of second semester is significant according to stop-out plan, but not dropout plan at the beginning of freshmen year. And freshmen's dropout occurs at early semester, especially focusing on the first semester of college years. Third, this study analyzes the other aspects of dropout causes. There are the disparities of studying habits, economic supports from family, and communicative competence, career identity,commitment to degree attainment, expectation for the individual development through supporting from college between dropout group and academic persistence group. Fourth, while the academic persistence groups are represented to experience the change tendency toward academic persistence except family background variables,the dropout groups are not significant in intelligent concern, basic academic competency, and social integration including family background variables. The dropout groups are found to be more difficult to change the characteristics toward academic persistence tendency. Some discussions can be performed about the colleges'supportive programs laying stress on how college factors influence the students' academic persistence.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 대학 학업지속 집단과 학업중단 집단 간 대학1학년에 적응하는 과정에서 개인, 가정, 대학환경 변인의 차이가 어떻게 나타나는지 분석함으로써 대학 중도탈락생의 이동 경로 구조 분석의 기초를 제공하고자 한다. 연구대상은 2008, 2009, 2010학번 대학1학년 1,723명이며, 첫 번째 검사 3년 후에 학업지속, 휴학, 자퇴여부를 조사하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 대학 1학년생의 휴학계획과 자퇴계획은 학년 초보다 학년 말에 더 증가한다. 둘째, 1학년 초 휴학계획 여부에 따라 2학기 학업 상태에 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 셋째, 학업지속 집단과 학업중단 집단 간 학습습관, 가정의 경제적 지원 수준, 의사소통능력, 진로정체성, 대학졸업열의, 대학을 통한 성장기대 변인에서 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 넷째, 학업지속 집단은 가정환경변인 이외 개인 및 대학 모든 변인에서 학업지속경향성이 높아진 반면, 학업중단 집단은 가정환경변인, 지적 관심, 기초학습능력 및 사회적 통합성 변인에서 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 대학 중도탈락생의 학업중단 경로 구조 분석 결과, 대학기관이 대학 1학년의 학문적․사회적 통합성을 향상시키기 위해 적극적으로 개입한다면 학업중단 비율을 낮출 수 있는 효과를 가져 올 수 있음을 제안한다.
