장애인의 직업재활을 촉진하는 미국의 편의증진 및 재활공학 관련 법제도 = Laws and Regulations regarding Job Accommodation and Rehabilitation Technology for Promoting Vocational Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities in the U. S.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of the study is to elicit implications of providing accommodation and rehabilitation technology for workers with disabilities and vocational rehabilitation service programs through investigating laws and regulations related to job accommodation in the United State. The provision of job accommodation and rehabilitation technology and its effects from Bush's New Freedom Initiative of 2001, Assistive Technology Act of 2004, Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, and Rehabilitation Act of 1998 were investigated. To facilitate job accommodation and rehabilitation technology, the job accommodation needs of workers and job seekers with disabilities, workplace conditions in Korea, vocational rehabilitation services context, and the roles of vocational rehabilitation and rehabilitation technology professionals should first be analyzed in the future study. With the analysis base, regulations and policies regarding job accommodation and rehabilitation technology in workplace and the roles of the professionals could be established.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 미국에서 장애인의 직업재활 및 고용을 위한 편의증진과 재활공학 관련 법제도를 분석하고 우리나라 직장에서의 장애인에 대한 편의증진 및 재활공학 제도와 서비스 제공에 대한 시사점을 도출하는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 부시 대통령의 New Freedom Initiative 정책, 재활보조공학법, 미국장애인법, 재활법에서 장애인의 직업관련 편의증진과 재활공학 내용과 그에 따른 결과와 실행과정을 분석하였다. 장애인에 직업재활을 촉진하는 편의증진과 재활공학의 도입을 위해서는 우리나라 장애인근로자와 구직 장애인의 편의증진 요구, 사업체의 여건, 직업재활 서비스 환경, 직업재활 서비스 전문가와 재활공학 전문가의 역할 등의 연구 분석을 통한 제도와 전문인력 배치 및 활용의 정립이 필요한 시점이다.
