서비스 기업의 기술혁신이 고용창출에 미치는 영향 분석

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 2006년 기술혁신조사 자료를 이용하여 우리나라 서비스 기업에서 공정혁신과 서비스 혁신의 고용효과를 실증적으로 분석하였다. 특히, 산업 및 기업의 특성, 시장구조 등에 따라 기술혁신이 고용에 미치는 효과가 어떻게 다른지를 분석하였다. 실증분석 결과에 따르면 공정혁신의 고용감소 효과는 서비스 가격 하락에 따른 생산증가 효과로 대부분 상쇄되는 것으로 나타났다. 반면 서비스 기업의 서비스(제품) 혁신은 고용의 순증가와 강한 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 특히, 지식집약적 서비스업에서 신규 서비스 매출의 1% 증가는 고용을 약 1.4% 증가시키는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 업력 5년 이하 신생 기업의 서비스 혁신은 기존 기업의 서비스 혁신보다 더 큰 고용효과를 발생시키며, 이는 지식집약적 서비스 기업에서 더 두드러졌다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Utilizing data from 2006 Korean Innovation Survey on the Service Sector, this study examines the impact of process and product(service) innovation on employment in Korean services firms. The study also investigates whether employment effects of innovation depend on firms’ characteristics. The estimation results suggest that product innovation significantly increase employment growth at the firm-level. In particular, in case of knowledge intensive service industry, the results show that a one percent increase in the sales of new services raises the growth rate of employment by 1.4 percent. The study also finds that the impact of product innovation on employment growth is much bigger for firms aged five years or less.
